It is no secret – I LOVE the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper [DSP] in the 2020 Holiday Catalog.  The colors in the Plaid Tidings DSP are so rich and are perfect for both Fall and the Christmas holidays.  But what if you want a slightly different color scheme on some of the papers?  Enter altered DSP!

I recently saw a cute treat box project made by talented demonstrator, Patty Bennett, that utilized the Plaid Tidings DSP.  I decided I wanted to make Patty’s treat boxes, but found that I had used most of my paper that had fall colors.  I had a brainstorm – why not use some of my Stampin’ Blends to make altered Plaid Tidings DSP so that it looked more fall-like?

I chose the Bumblebee plaid, and used my Cajun Craze and Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blends to create altered Plaid Tidings DSP that was more fall-like.  Here is a photo of the before and after –

All I can say is “wow”.  The Blends completely changed the appearance of the paper.  I may try this technique on other sheets of this beautiful paper.

Next, here is a photo of the treat boxes I made.  I copied Patty Bennett’s idea, except I used my altered DSP.

Little Treat Boxes

For my project I used the Little Treat Box Dies, as well as the Little Treats stamp set.  Both are from the 2020 Holiday Catalog  Other products used are the Beautiful Autumn stamp set and coordinating Autumn Punch Pack (hint: buy both as a bundle and save 10%).  I also used the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots, 2020-2022 In Color 1/4″ Ribbon (Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider), and Linen Thread.  I was able to fit two Hershey’s Nuggets in the treat box.

These will be given to everyone who attends my 2021 Calendar class.  I still have room in my October 21 class, so if you are interested just email me for the details.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  If you want to duplicate my project but don’t have some of the products I used please contact me and I will place an order for you.  Or, place an online order (and have your order delivered directly to your home address) at
