It has been a long, long time since I posted anything on my blog, and It feels good to be sharing my ideas with you again. I have been creating projects for a Creative Backgrounds class, which, unfortunately, I had to cancel due to health reasons. But I want to share a card I created for the class
The Sending Smiles suite of products is one of my favorites from the 2022 Annual Catalog. The images are simple but striking, and there is a nice variety of greeting stamps. Paired with the Sending dies you can make a lot of greeting cards, each with a different twist. This is definitely a suite of products you want to add to your collection.
At my class I taught others how to create easy and different backgrounds using masks, embossing folders, sponging and watercolors. The first card I’m sharing with you today used a mask, Blending Brushes and ink to make a simple but unique background layer – one that takes no time at all.
Products–
- Stamp Set: Sending Smiles
- Paper: Sweet Sorbet; Basic White; Garden Green; Tea Boutique 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper
- Ink: Parakeet Party; Sweet Sorbet; Crushed Curry
- Other: Artistic Mix Decorative Masks; Sending dies; Parakeet Party 1/8″ Metallic Ribbon; Blending Brushes; Stampin’ Dimensionals; Glue Dots; Low tack tape (non-Stampin’ Up!); Multipurpose Glue or Seal
To make the masked background –
Place 5-1/4 x 4 piece of Basic White on a large piece of scrap paper, cover with mask. Secure corners of mask with a low tack tape to hold it in place. Using a Blending Brush, sponge Parakeet Party ink over entire surface. Remove mask
