Today I am sharing the graduation card I recently made for my step-grandson, Tilmon, who just graduated from high school. Fortunately, I was in Portland recently so I could hand-deliver the card and watch as he opened it.
I knew I wanted to make a card that looked like a graduation cap, so I chose the Pop Up Diamond Fold technique. There are lots of tutorials for this fold available online, and this is the version I chose. The card was so easy to make I couldn’t believe it. And…the card fit into a regular-size envelope!
You can’t see it in the photo, but I created a pocket at the bottom of the card, which held a nice, crisp $100 dollar bill. That money should be helpful when Tilmon enters a community college in the fall.
Here are the products I used to make Tilmon’s card –
- Stamp set: Charming Sentiments (for the greeting)
- Paper: Blackberry Bliss; Basic White; Neutrals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper; More Dazzle 6″ x 6″ Specialty Paper
- Ink: Blackberry Bliss
- Other: Simply Elegant Trim; 3/4″ Circle Punch (retired); Seal; Stampin’ Dimensionals
If you still need a graduation card for someone, I highly recommend this fold. It truly is an easy, but impressive, card to make. The best part? It can be used for any occasion, not just graduations!
Do you want to duplicate the card that I made? You can purchase the products I used at my Stampin’ Up! store, donnabagwell.stampinup.net.
